The Camellia Garden

This charming garden at 229 Bridge Street is a pleasant surprise full of beautiful Camellia’s. A place for the community be within nature, gather with friends, and enjoy a public garden space in the historic district of Senoia. The Camellia Garden Committee of talented woman share gardening knowledge to improve their gardening skills as they volunteer their time. They are dedicated to garden design that is mindful of the environment, encourages wildlife as they maintain this garden to enjoy.

They contribute their time to enrich themselves, the community, and raise awareness of historic garden preservation. Please stop by and stay awhile.

Deodar Cedar Tree

Stop by the Camellia Garden, 229 Bridge Street, Senoia and see this unusual specimen tree. Historically used and well documented to construct religious temples and used in landscaping around temples.

The wood is aromatic and makes a fragrant incense. The cedar oils are often used therapeutically in aromatherapy or as an insect repellant. It can reach 130-160 feet tall, trunk to 10 feet wide, arching graceful branches, and blue green needle like leaves that create interest to your landscape. It is also known as "‘Rose Cedar’

The male and female cones are on the same tree. Male cones usually on the lower branches and the beautiful female cones, shaped like roses, on the upper branches. See photos to the left.
